John Scalici is an award winning teaching artist, internationally recognized drum circle facilitator, musician, and a member of the John C. Maxwell Team of certified speakers, coaches, and trainers. His powerful message of Unity Through Rhythm has been highly regarded at leading corporations, college campuses, elementary, middle and high schools and special events across the U.S. and in Japan.
A strong advocate for the arts in education, he is the recipient of the 2005 Fellowship Grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts, the 2008 Pauline Ireland Award granted to individual artists, and was presented with the 2010 “Making a Difference” award by the Alabama Alliance for Arts Education.
His company, Get Rhythm!® was nominated for Small Business of the Year by Birmingham Magazine.
He has studied djembe music with world renowned Grand Master djembe players, Mamady Keita and Fomadou Konate.
Mr. Scalici recently completed a year long training at Youth Villages, Inc. where he earned a certificate in Therapeutic Drumming. He is also certified in the highly acclaimed adolescent treatment intervention, DRUMBEAT program.
John continues to teach, speak, perform, and facilitate meaningful workshops and programs around the country to Inspire, Motivate and Empower participants to reach their full human potential through the universal language of rhythm.
