School Programs

John Scalici has worked as a professional teaching artist for more than 25 years, providing arts in education residencies, enrichment programs, character education, and family fun nights. He is the recipient of the “Making a Difference” award which is given to outstanding teaching artists who truly make a difference in children’s lives.

School programs provide an “enrichment” opportunity for kids K-12 to learn about the WHY of drumming. In other words, it’s not simply a music education “class”, but rather a cultural overview of drums, their uses throughout history, and how we can use them to strengthen the “village” which is the school.

Concept-based curriculum integration programs (STEAM) are also available, based upon John Scalici’s book, Learn In Rhythm. Professional development for teachers is also available.
